HomeBiogas develops and delivers off-grid biogas systems that turn organic waste into clean cooking gas and natural fertilizer. Our mission is to provide simple, affordable, and sustainable solutions that improve daily life for farmers and off-grid communities—while reducing environmental harm. Designed for rural households and smallholder farmers, each HomeBiogas system uses animal or food waste to produce renewable energy and a daily flow of organic fertilizer. This replaces the need for firewood, charcoal, and chemical fertilizers—saving families money, protecting health, and improving soil. With over 30,000 systems installed in more than 100 countries, we’ve built a global network of impact—reaching regions across Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. In Kenya, Ghana, and other developing markets, our technology is already helping thousands of farmers reduce fuel costs by up to KES 4,000 (~USD 30) per month, increase crop yields, and live smoke-free. What sets us apart is a model built for long-term value. Our systems last over 15 years, and through certified carbon credits from methane reduction, we create added revenue streams that help make the product more affordable. Farmers gain immediate savings, and each system delivers over KES 600,000 (~USD 4,000) in value across its lifetime. HomeBiogas is proud to partner with respected organizations like the UNDP, MCFA, WWF, GIZ, SNV and local stakeholders such as farmer organisation and financial isntitutions to expand access to clean energy and regenerative agriculture.
